Learning How to Learn Is Your Superpower
Most people optimize for information. They read the best books, take the best courses, watch the best videos.
They forget: how you learn matters more than what you learn.
I realized this learning German. I could memorize grammar rules (useless). Or I could speak badly to Germans every day (transformative).
Same information. Different learning method. Completely different outcomes.
There are learners who can self-teach anything. Not because they're smarter. Because they know their learning method.
Some need community. Some need to teach others. Some need to build things. Some need abstract theory first.
I learn by building. By breaking things and fixing them. By teaching what I learn.
So when I try to learn something new, I ask: "How do I learn best?" Then I structure that topic around my learning method.
This is multiplied power. Every hour of learning becomes more effective.
Most education is top-down. Teachers decide the method. Students comply. This fails for anyone whose learning method doesn't match.
The meta-skill knowing how you learn unlocks everything.
Spend time experimenting:
- Lecture? Hands-on? Discussion?
- Solo? Group? Teaching others?
- Books? Videos? Trial and error?
Find your method. Then use it for everything.
Your learning style isn't a limitation. It's your superpower.
