You're Choosing This and That's the Point

Sartre said existence precedes essence. You aren’t born with a script. You choose who you become.

That idea isn’t comforting. It’s demanding. Because it makes you responsible.

You can’t fully blame circumstances. You can’t say “I had no choice.”
Even when all options are bad, you still choose which one to live with.

There’s a moment every founder recognizes:
I could take a stable job. Predictable income. Less risk.

I don’t. Not because it’s noble. Not because doubt disappears. I just choose this again and again even on hard days.

That means the responsibility is mine.

This kills victimhood. It also kills excuses.
Didn’t ship? You chose not to.
Bad code still sitting there? You chose not to fix it.

It sounds harsh. It’s actually freeing.

If everything is a choice, then nothing is fixed. You’re not trapped you’re choosing what you stay trapped in.

Sartre called this radical responsibility. And it’s where real freedom comes from.

Choose consciously.
Own the choice.
Change it later if needed.

You build things that matter not because you’re forced to but because you chose to.
